Social media sites have emerged as the newest form of networking which is currently sweeping the Internet Social sites like Face book, Twitter, My Space and Linked In provide a better way for people to network. Social media provides organizations an essential tool for a huge variety of philanthropic activities including education, activism, direct fundraising and volunteer development. It has an inherently personal and community based nature, due to which it provides an ideal canvas to work, allowing causes to activate and invigorate significant grassroots activity and not just communicate

This increased attention depicts social media’s growing prevalence. The difference with over sharers and Twitter Wit is that the humour is generated from inside the online world, rather than from the outside looking into it. Internet users usually send ridiculous posts to over sharers, while the compiler of “Twitter Wit,” Nick Douglas sought witty or sarcastic remarks for the book via Twitter. For all the abnormal self admiration, social media has been accused of promoting the growth. It’s refreshing to see that some people are using Twitter, Face book and the like, to poke fun. Now the trick is to take the President’s advice, and try not to become someone else’s punch line.
